In December volunteers from across PPG’s Melbourne paint and coating manufacturing sites spent 5 days beautifying the Kingston Education Centre with Taubmans paint as part of PPG’s global Colourful Communities initiative.

Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service and proudly provides healthcare to one quarter of Melbourne’s population and employs more than 24,000 people. The Kingston Education Centre is used to host training sessions for team members who work across over 40 Monash Health sites including six hospitals in the region.

PPG donated more than 240 litres of Taubmans interior paint to support the repaint of the facility’s interior walls, this includes a break room, six training rooms, office rooms and shared areas.

Taubmans merchandise partners, Monarch and iQuip, also donated paint brushes, rollers, drop sheets, personal protective equipment (PPE) and more. Mirka Abrasives donated products to help with sanding and preparation of the walls.

“This facility is key to keeping our workforce up to date with key education and training. It was in much need of a refreshing facelift, and we are very appreciative of the PPG team coming together to transform the space", said Dux Balendran, Interim General Manager, Kingston Aged and Rehabilitation.

“As we approached the festive season this was the perfect way to finish the year as a team, with staff members taking time out of their week to step in and help paint this facility. Said, Claire Walker, Managing Director, and GM Architectural Coatings ANZ.

Claire said, “The impact a fresh coat of paint has on spaces shouldn’t be underestimated, especially in areas where engagement and learning are the main priority. A fresh coat of paint creates a lightness and brightness which will be enjoyed by the Monash Health team and community for years to come.”

The Colourful Communities program, PPG’s signature initiative for supporting communities, aims to protect and beautify the neighbourhoods where PPG operates around the world. PPG’s committed volunteers contribute their time and PPG paint products to help transform community spaces. Since 2015, PPG has completed more than 500 Colourful Communities projects, impacting more than 8.2 million people in 50 countries.
